8 reasons to Relocate and Work in the USA

“I was a poor kid. I came from nothing. We didn’t have any money; a lot

of times we didn’t have any food, and now, all of a sudden, I’m a superhero in

a Marvel movie. Talk about the American dream, man – I’m living it.” This was

an excerpt from an interview by Dave Bautista, an American actor.

Despite being a term battered down a million times, The American Dream is

still a valid point to pursue and strive for. The belief that you can succeed

regardless of who you are. The belief that your gender, background, and

socioeconomic status are irrelevant to achieve growth is the quintessence of

this chaotic yet exciting nation. Let me tell you 5 reasons why relocation to the

United States of America (USA) is worth a shot in your life.

1. Economy

The USA has seen it all. The Great Depression, multiple recessions, inflations,

and pandemics yet the country is standing firm by being the world’s largest

and strongest economy with a GDP of USD23 trillion(2021). The main

contributor to this gigantic feat would be the highly-advanced service industry

which consists of technology, finance, real estate, retail, insurance,

professional and business services, and healthcare.

The open economy concept further facilitates foreign direct investment and

flexible business investment with the backing of the dollar as it’s still the most

redeemable currency for world commerce transactions. This is the reason that

it's highly unlikely the U.S. dollar will experience a collapse any time soon

making America a rather dominant geopolitical nation of all times.

Inherently, working in a country where the economy remains stable despite

many hurdles would indirectly guarantee your peace of mind in terms of

stability.

2. Opportunities

According to the US Bureau of Labour Statistics, the number of job openings

was 11.2 million in July 2022, which was a significant raise of 199,000 from

June 2022. Vacancies increased in transportation, warehousing, utilities, arts,

entertainment, recreation, and state and local government education with a

minimum hourly wage ranging from USD 7 to USD 15.

On the other hand, by being a forefront runner in the ever-changing landscape

of science and technology in every sector, there is a gazillion of entrepreneurial

opportunities out there when you relocate to the US. Take a look at Silicon

Valley. And isn’t it an awe-inspiring moment when you know that there is an

innumerable number of grants and funding by both government as well as the

private sector to boost every budding entrepreneur out there? As I hinted

earlier, there is something for everyone in America.

3. Diversity

Housing a population of a rough 330 million people from every walk of life is

mind-boggling and there is no way one could talk about America’s population

without using the word ‘diverse’. Enhancing my statement further would be

the release of National Population by Characteristic data spanning from 2010-

2019 by the US Census Bureau. The statistic shows that nearly 4 out of 10

Americans you meet on a busy road while commuting to work would identify

with a race or ethnic group other than white. What surprised everyone was

that the 2010 to 2020 decade will be the first in the nation’s history in which

the white population declined in numbers, an unprecedented finding.

Over the decade, it was the racial and ethnic minorities that accounted for all

of the nation’s population growth, especially in younger age groups(less than

25 years old) and they were also responsible for population gains in many

states, metropolitan areas, and counties that would have otherwise registered

losses due to declines in their white populations. So, it is an undeniable fact

that the US is booming towards becoming a more multiethnic, multiracial and

multicultural nation.

4. Lifestyle

Coming to the fun aspect now, please raise your hands if you grew up watching

way too much of American movies (like me) that sparkle with all the glitz and

glam of the American way of living. There is so much excitement in every

aspect of your life when you relocate and work in the US.

Americans are outgoing, warm, and friendly and it could confuse you at the

beginning if you’re from a much-reserved nation. Hard work, punctuality and

resilience are admired, praised and encouraged. Food portions and groceries

are enormous yet affordable. Movies, music and sports get celebrated

passionately. With a thousand ways to fill your free time, you will be

consistently on the go, savouring each day of your life to the fullest.

You will be spoilt with the choices of food options you can get everywhere. In a

crazy survey done in past, it is revealed that it would take you almost 23 years

to try out each restaurant in New York City. Mindblown!

5. Travel

Did you know there is never a bad time to visit the USA? I swear by it! What

the 50 states can offer is a wide array of landscapes varying from breezy

mountains to hot, white sand beaches. One day you could be exploring the

curves and bends of The Grand Canyon or sipping some mojito while partying

all night in front of Miami Beach and the next you could get lost among the

crowd in New York Times Square or reminisce about your early childhood in

Disney World.

If you’re a nature lover, get ready for almost 400 national parks that span

around 80 acres! Imagine doing all this all year long without the need to travel

outside of the country! Or if you’re a history buff, prepare to be enthralled by

more than 200 museums with free entrance! Your off days are never going to

be the same in America as there is always something or somewhere to look

forward to.

6. Education

It is an arguably undeniable fact that America’s education system is one of the

best in the world. Equipped with highly advanced resources, you’re in safe

hands here when it comes to securing your children's future. In a recent survey

done by the QS World University Rankings, almost half of the world’s top 100

universities are located in the US(Let’s not forget the infamous Ivy league

schools namely Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Brown etc). Not to mention the

flexibility that comes with the system. One can pursue multiple courses before

deciding their major and even take gap years to explore or travel before

discovering their true passion. With an impeccable quality of education right

from elementary to high school, the chances of your kids gaining a globally

recognized accreditation are much higher the moment you step foot in the US.

7. Healthcare

On the other hand, the healthcare system is on par with the education system

in competing to be one of the best in the world. Cutting-edge medicine

technology is pursued seriously in the US, especially in the current post-

pandemic era. It is estimated that around 140 000 active clinical trials are

occurring right now as you read this article. These researches are passionately

done to find a hundred new ways to treat complex diseases, from Covid to

cancer. I do agree to an extent that public healthcare cost is a controversial

topic in America, but when you relocate for the right job in the US, what

usually awaits you is a brilliant relocation package that usually consists of a

good deal of medical and dental benefits depending on your employer. So,

please remember to enquire regarding your health benefits before packing

your bags!

8. Growth

Coming to the final touchdown, moving and starting a new chapter in a new

country is indeed nerve-wracking but that provides the perfect opportunity for

you to ace forward. And it is with full confidence, that I’m reassuring you that a

job in the USA, no matter what it is, would strengthen different aspects of your

life. Be it your resume, be it your financial status, or even your total outlook on

life would improve significantly with one move. America always opens its arms

to welcoming diligent, ambitious, and competitive people like you to achieve

great growth together.

The reasons above are just a glimpse of what could be your enchanting

future in the US. There will be bumps and hurdles along the way as you start to

embark on your “American Dream”, but do not let go easily what you set your

heart on as the outcome would be totally worth it in the end.

One would agree that it would take one simple life-changing decision to

alter the whole course of our future. The problem is we never know when we

have to face these choices. Some keep waiting for life to happen to them and

they are filled with nothing but regrets in the end wishing that they could

travel back in time to reset their answers badly. If you don’t want to be that

person, jump on and take that leap of faith to face greater possibilities in a

powerful nation like America.
